To advance toward digital government, MFA issues digital passports and e-visas

According to government spokesman Anucha Burapachaisri, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has begun distributing electronic or digital passports to the general population. The new passport is linked to the Digital ID system of the Interior Ministry.

Furthermore, the e-Visa system is presently functioning at over 38 Thai embassies and consulates in 23 different countries. Contact verification and other new features will be activated, and user data will be stored on the cloud. A banned person alert is also included in the function. The search feature of the system has also been improved to make it more easy. By three years, the service is intended to be offered in every nation with an embassy and Thai consulates globally.
