Thailand’s governor sent invitation to all attendees of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Bangkok

The APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting, which will take place next week, will be the focal point for all APEC activities for the year 2022. As a co-host, the BMA of Bangkok has confirmed that they are prepared for the APEC leaders’ week. In addition, the APEC 2022 Thailand: Showcase at ICONSIAM is open to the public thanks to an invitation from Bangkok City Hall.

At ICONSIAM, APEC 2022 Thailand: Showcase was officially opened under the patronage of Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt. Tanee Sangrat, director-general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Department of Information, accompanied him.

The governor of Bangkok stated that the BMA is pleased to co-host the 2022 APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting. This celebration also serves as Bangkok’s official reopening following the COVID-19 incident. Having the leaders meet in Thailand should increase the country’s credibility in the eyes of investors and the rest of the world.

In a plea to all Bangkok residents, Mr. Chadchart emphasized the importance of being kind guests. He said that maintaining cleanliness and order is the BMA’s responsibility and that the agency has made all necessary steps to do so. The quality of the roads surrounding the meeting locations has been enhanced.

The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, where the world leaders would be gathering, was decorated for the occasion. To better prepare for catastrophe mitigation and prevention, BMA staff and security agencies ran joint drills. Cleaning staff, such as garbage men and janitors, have received special instruction to assist security guards in keeping an eye out for any dangers.

The purpose of the “APEC 2022 Thailand: Showcase at ICONSIAM” is to increase the general public’s excitement for the upcoming APEC meetings in Thailand. There will be a focus on new developments and information pertinent to Thailand’s APEC goals and objectives. Among the topics discussed is the need for sustainable growth that is fair on all fronts (economic, social, and ecological).

The approach of the bio-circular-green (BCG) economy, the development of APEC, and other topics are also discussed. In addition, there will be panel discussions with prominent micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (SME) owners to discuss the BCG economy. ICONSIAM is hosting the exhibition till November 20.
