November 25-27 is the 40th general meeting of chambers of business. This year’s tournament will be at Ubon Ratchathani. The Thai Chamber of Commerce expects the 3-day event would boost Ubon Ratchathani’s economy, which was hit by flooding.
Sanan Angubolkul, chairman of the TCC, said that November 25-27 will be the dates for the 40th general assembly of chambers of business. In the province of Ubon Ratchathani, the event will take place in the university’s main conference hall. TCC, Ubon Ratchathani Chamber of Commerce, and other organizations are working together to put on the assembly. Thai business competitiveness, especially in the SME sector, is a pressing issue that must be discussed in the next assembly. Mr. Sanan said that in order to make changes, these companies require help, particularly in gaining access to finance sources. The assembly will also discuss ways to boost economic growth-promoting trade, investment, and tourism.
Mr. Sanan, who is also head of the Board of Trade of Thailand, predicted that no fewer than one thousand top executives from various organizations will be present at the meeting. It is anticipated that the economic climate of Ubon Ratchathani would be improved thanks to the participants’ presence.
Sawat Theeraratananugulchai, vice chairman of the TCC, has said he plans to showcase several private sector initiatives that would benefit the region’s twenty provinces in the Northeast. An example of the latter is the “1 Chamber, 1 Happy Model” initiative, which aims to improve upon a cattle-raising model to provide high-quality meat. He spoke on behalf of Northeastern Region chambers of commerce to say that these developments are good for business in the BCG.
At the assembly, businesses will have the opportunity to hear from government ministers and private sector leaders on a variety of themes, as well as participate in roundtable discussions and share their own ideas. To present to the prime minister and relevant agencies, the TCC will write a white paper based on the outcomes and findings of the general assembly.
