Owner of Mountain B arrested and charged, short circuit revealed to be the cause of the inferno

Police have arrested Mr. Pongsiri or Sia Bee, 27, the owner of Mountain B, which was recently engulfed in flames, killing 15 people and injuring 36 others. He has been accused with inflicting damage and death to others via negligence and operating a venue without a license.

He was arrested promptly and will spend the weekend in police jail without bail, with his next court appearance scheduled for Monday, when a bond of one million baht will be submitted.

Mr. Anucha Wongsrirat, Sia Bee’s lawyer, indicated that Sia Bee is presently in a depressed state as a result of the events that occurred.  He first pled guilty to all counts. The business is willing to compensate the deceased and injured.

For the deceased, 50,000 baht will be provided to every individual, and 10,000 baht will be paid to each injured person.  Both the family of the deceased and the injured can contact the business management through the Facebook page “Mountain B,” which has presently assigned the manager to engage all parties.

Also, the death toll from the Mountain B fire grew to 15 yesterday, with the death of Mr. Thanakrit Neenoi, 36, who died recently at Rayong Hospital. Ms. Nittaya Neenoi, the victim’s younger sister, said that her brother went to the Mountain B club with about ten of his friends to celebrate his birthday. Thanakit had reserved a table near the musical stage and received serious burns despite escaping the fire alive, according to his sister.

Thanakit, together with two of his friends, Mr. Surakan Ruangrit, 35, who died in the flames, and Mr. Suthep Mongkolkaew, 33, who died in a hospital, brought the Mountain B fire death toll to 15 as of press time.

According to Ms Nittaya, the bar owner and executives have yet to contact her family in order to accept responsibility for her brother and his friends’ deaths.

On a national level, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered a second inquiry into the Chon Buri bar fire, which killed 15 people and wounded 36 others, after an earlier examination revealed that the establishment had been unlawfully renovated and operated.

General Prayut extended condolences to the victims of the Mountain B bar fire. He stated that he has directed officials to evaluate the damage and care for the injured and families of the deceased.

“Authorities have been directed to investigate the incident and bring the perpetrator to justice,” he added. “This is reminiscent of the Santika bar fire in Bangkok.”

On Saturday morning, officials from the Chon Buri provincial disaster prevention and mitigation office and Sattahip district officials inspected the fire-ravaged pub to gather additional evidence for police investigators to issue arrest warrants for those involved in the inferno, which killed 15 people and injured 37 others.

Buddhist monks performed funeral rituals for the deceased the venue on Saturday with family members and friends of the victims in attendence. Meanwhile, other victims appeared at the Phlu Ta Luang police station to provide testimony. The injured victims who arrived at the police station were Chayanin Seethapthim, 25, and his mother Chaninan Chanfong, 48.

On Sunday, the Deputy Governor of Chonburi Province revealed, following a meeting of individuals engaged and accountable for the incident at Mountain B Pub, that the reason was first thought to be a short circuit. near the music stage Following then, there was a major fire. resulting in fatalities and injuries.

In terms of pub permission and location, Chonburi province has consistently prioritized and stressed site safety, including fire escapes, fire extinguishers, and CCTV cameras. It was stated that what transpired was a result of unforeseeable circumstances.

Following the fire at Mountain B Pub, Mr Naris directed the sheriff to work with local government entities to investigate pubs and bars that have been granted authorization to operate by Chonburi Province.

These venues are located at around 500 places, mostly in the Pattaya region, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, and will be examined for the usage of materials and equipment, particularly combustible materials that may be put in pubs and bars, in order to avoid another fire.
