The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is promoting southern Thailand as a travel destination following its appearance in Jurassic World: Rebirth, the latest installment of the Universal Pictures franchise. Released in 2025, the film showcases a number of Thailand’s natural landscapes, aiming to attract both film fans and nature-focused travelers.
While some scenes were filmed in urban locations such as Bangkok and Chiang Mai, much of the production took place in the country’s south. Natural reserves, waterfalls, caves, and coastal zones served as key backdrops for the film’s setting, emphasizing Thailand’s ecological diversity.
Prominent filming sites include Hat Chao Mai National Park in Trang, Khao Phanom Bencha National Park in Krabi, and Ao Phang Nga National Park in Phang Nga. Within Krabi, specific locations featured in the film include Ban Bagan, Huai To Waterfall, Tham To Luang Cave, Palm Plantation, Nai Mueang, Khao Khanap Nam, Khao Ngon Nak, and Khlong Rood. Additional filming took place at Ko Kradan and the Phang Nga Bay, with scenes highlighting limestone cliffs and clear turquoise waters.
The global release of Jurassic World: Rebirth has contributed to renewed interest in these destinations. TAT aims to leverage this visibility to promote sustainable tourism and support local communities.
