Six Bangkok Restaurants Ranked Among World’s Best

Thailand secured six positions on the prestigious list, with all selected establishments located in the capital city of Bangkok. The acclaimed Gaggan ranked highest at number 6, also earning the title of Best Restaurant in Asia. Potong, entering the list for the first time, took 13th place and received the Highest New Entry Award for 2025. The remaining Thai entries were Sorn at number 17, Suhring at 22, Le Du at 30, and Nusara—also a new entry—at 35.

This year’s selection included more than ten new restaurants globally, reflecting a continued shift in the international fine dining scene. The presence of Thai establishments highlights the strength and innovation of the country’s culinary sector, which draws on deep cultural roots while embracing modern techniques.

Thailand’s growing gastronomic reputation is part of a broader strategy supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to position the country as a world-class food destination. According to TAT, cuisine plays a central role in promoting tourism and enhancing the nation’s cultural image abroad.

In a statement following the announcement, TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said Thai cuisine represents more than just flavor; it is a blend of heritage, creativity, and cultural storytelling. The international recognition of Thai chefs and their work reflects the country’s evolving soft power and its potential for cultural and economic impact through gastronomy.
