The new three-kilometer branch of Bangkok’s Pink Line monorail, connecting Si Rat station to Muang Thong Thani, will begin test operations in late June, offering free rides ahead of its full launch on July 19. The route is designed to improve access to entertainment and event venues in Muang Thong Thani.
Transport Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit announced that fares on the new extension will range from 15 to 22 baht once regular service begins. The Pink Line is owned by the Bangkok Rapid Transit Authority and operated by Northern Bangkok Monorail Co., a joint venture with the BTS Skytrain operator.
Muang Thong Thani station is expected to enhance connectivity to key locations, including concert halls, exhibition centers, and sports facilities. Officials, including representatives from the transport sector, are expected to attend the test launch.
