PT Grand Prix of Thailand 2024 Set for October

The PT Grand Prix of Thailand 2024, scheduled for October 25-27 at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram province, is poised to become a major highlight on the international motorsport calendar. This highly anticipated event is expected to attract over 800 million viewers from more than 200 countries.

Vice Minister for Tourism and Sports Phonpoom Vipattipumiprates recently detailed the significant economic benefits of the MotoGP event, emphasizing its impact last year when it drew nearly 180,000 spectators. The event boosted international tourist numbers by 11% and generated over 4.493 billion baht in local spending.

Gongsak Yodmani, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, highlighted the increasing popularity of the event, with ticket sales rising each year. He commended the achievements of Thai racers such as Somkiat Chantra and Tatchakorn Buasri, who have gained international recognition.

Buriram Governor Narucha Kosacivilize noted that the race will create over 6,426 jobs and promote Thai agricultural heritage among visitors through the “E-Tan Shuttle Service.”

Ferran Juncar, Senior Director of Global Sponsorship at Dorna Sports, welcomed PTG Energy Public Company Limited as the new title sponsor. He cited PTG’s resources and technology as crucial to enhancing the event’s promotional efforts.
