The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has requested that the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), the contractors of the Orange, Pink, and Yellow lines, and other parties replace road surfaces near construction sites by the end of April.
Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt called for the meeting on Monday (Dec. 26) to discuss traffic around construction sites, and the order was issued the same day.
The ruling also mandates that the MRTA and the contractors speed up the process of installing pipes and conduits and inspect the drainage systems in the areas surrounding the construction sites.
The parties have also been instructed to take down any remaining construction barriers in unused areas, reduce the size of any active work zones, repair any damaged pavement or asphalt, and repaint or install any necessary road markings or traffic signs in the reconstructed areas.
As the rainy season approaches, the BMA has demanded that the MRTA submit its restoration plans to the Department of Public Works by the end of this week.
