The Japanese Prime Minister talks on Thai tourism promotion and the next G7 summit

The Japanese government is getting ready to host the 2023 Group of Seven (G7) meeting, so Prime Minister Fumio Kishida held a news conference to address questions and offer information.

The Japanese prime minister, who was among the foreign dignitaries in Bangkok for the 29th APEC Economic Leaders’ Summit, stated that the next meeting will provide G7 members a chance to discuss important topics, especially those related to a collaborative conversation on the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP).

Kishida claims that the AOIP will advance stability in the Indo-Pacific and East China Sea by encouraging multilateral collaboration and a rule-of-law based international order.

Since Japan once again welcomed foreign visitors in October of last year, the country’s prime minister extended an invitation to Thais and others across the world. He continued by saying that Thailand, which is home to many exciting and interesting sites, would surely be among the countries drawing Japanese tourists, as has been the case for decades.

In addition, Kishida announced that direct flights would be added between Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport and Kansai International Airport as part of Japan’s “Open the Treasure of Japan 2023” campaign, which would improve the aviation network between the two countries and give Japan an excuse to celebrate the opening of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Himeji Castle. In addition to enhancing the aviation network between the two countries, the opening of Umi Airport and Kansai International Airport will give Japan the chance to celebrate the unveiling of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Himeji Castle by showcasing traditional activities like Kabuki dance performances. This will be a great venue for showcasing Japan’s cultural traditions, such as Kabuki performances and “Washoku” cuisine.

Kishida will be in attendance at a session where further methods and advertising for recruiting Thai visitors to Japan will be discussed.
