PM Prayut offers his condolences following the Itaewon stampede

After the Itaewon crowd crush in Seoul, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha sent his sympathies to the victims’ families. He directs the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul t o assist Thais who have been impacted by the incident.

Large Halloween crowds flooded into a congested roadway in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, and at least 151 people are said to have died as a result, according to officials.

The first uncovered Halloween celebrations since the COVID-19 pandemic were taking place in the Itaewon nightlife district when the event occurred, injuring at least 82 people.

One of the most well-liked areas in Seoul for a night out is Itaewon. Every weekend, locals and visitors from abroad throng there, but Halloween is one of the busiest nights of the year.

Yoon Suk-yeol, president of South Korea, gave the order to form a task force to assist in the treatment of the injured following an emergency meeting. He also started looking into what caused the crush.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul, South Korea, has warned Thai citizens to stay away from large crowds in confined areas.
