On July 25, 2024, an unusual case of neglect was reported from a community apartment in Village No. 2, Sam Ruean Subdistrict, Bang Pa-in District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The dormitory administrator discovered a room in a shocking state of disarray after a tenant, identified as a tomboy factory worker, notified the owner of her intention to vacate.
The tenant, a well-presented 25-30-year-old woman, had lived in the apartment for approximately a year. Despite timely monthly payments and a regular appearance in factory uniform, the condition of her room raised serious concerns. When the dormitory owner, along with hired workers and Ayutthaya Association officials, entered the room to assess its condition, they encountered a significant mess. The room was strewn with an extensive array of trash, including used sanitary napkins, discarded food packaging, plastic bottles, and various other waste items. Additionally, the bathroom was inundated with toilet paper and blocked by a large amount of sanitary napkins, contributing to an overpowering and unpleasant odor.

Ms. Bow, the 37-year-old dormitory administrator, expressed her surprise and dismay at the state of the room. She noted that while the tenant appeared clean and orderly in her daily life, the condition of the room contradicted her appearance. The administrator speculated that this could indicate a deeper psychological issue or negligence, as similar cases had reportedly occurred in other dormitories with tenants exhibiting the same behavior.
The cleanup operation, which involved more than 50 garbage bags, was supported by local rescue workers, including Mr. Panya Chumanee of the Ayutthaya Rescue Unit. He described the situation as a significant social service challenge and highlighted the unusual nature of the incident. According to Chumanee, this pattern of behavior had been observed previously with other tenants, raising concerns about whether this was the same individual causing problems in multiple locations.
Ms. Bow has appealed for better practices and potential compensation from the former tenant, urging other dormitory owners to remain vigilant against similar issues. This incident underscores the need for increased awareness and management of tenant behavior in residential settings.
